Description
Drywall consists of a core made from gypsum plaster, which is a non-combustible mineral, sandwiched between two sheets of heavy paper or fiberglass mats. The gypsum core gives the board its strength and fire-resistant properties.

Features :
Core Material: The core is made of gypsum, a soft sulfate mineral that offers fire resistance, sound insulation, and ease of use.
Facing: The core is covered with a facing material, usually heavy paper or fiberglass. The paper facing can be finished with paint, wallpaper, or other decorative treatments. Fiberglass-faced drywall is more resistant to moisture and mold.
Thickness: Drywall is available in various thicknesses, typically ranging from 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch. Common thicknesses include:
- 1/4 inch: Used for creating curved surfaces or as a base layer in multi-layer applications.
- 1/2 inch: The standard for most interior walls.
- 5/8 inch: Used for ceilings and areas requiring enhanced fire resistance.
Sizes: Drywall sheets are commonly available in 4 feet by 8 feet dimensions, but they can also be found in lengths up to 12 feet or more for larger applications.
Types of Drywall :

Moisture-Resistant Drywall: Often referred to as green board, it is treated to resist moisture and is suitable for bathrooms, kitchens, and other damp areas.
